Dear P.S. 33 Families,
It is my pleasure to welcome you to the 2024 – 2025 school year! The following letter provides you with some important information for the start of the school year. As always, we will be updating you all frequently as the year progresses, but we want to be sure you and your child(ren) have everything you need to feel prepared.
The outdoor line-up locations will only take place for the first 2 days of school while everyone gets accustomed to their class and teachers. Indoor arrival (locations below) will begin on Monday, September 9, 2024.
School Hours: Monday to Friday from 8:00 AM-2:20 PM (Pre-K to Grade 5)
Our doors open at 8:00 am every school day. Breakfast will be served from 8:00 – 8:15 in the classroom to any students that wish to eat. Students will be able to grab a breakfast bag at each entry location. Arrival locations are as follow (all doors are labeled with same info):
PreK – Main entrance of school building
Kindergarten and Grade 1 – Cafeteria Entrances (Ramps)
Grade 2 – Right side of inner school yard
Grade 3 – Left side of inner school yard
*Grade 4– Rear of Auditorium (off 92 Ave.)
* Grade 5 - Rear of Auditorium (off 92 Ave.)
• 4th & 5th Grades use the same entrance to enter and exit the building.
All teachers will be utilizing the app Class DoJo to communicate with parents. Please make sure to download and set up an account if you have not already. Teachers will be sending invites to connect the first week of school. You will also be asked to complete Emergency Contact Cards (“Blue Cards”) with all your family’s information. Please be sure to complete and return these to your child’s teacher as soon as possible. You may also receive communication from the school via text, phone call, or email so please be sure all your contact information is up-to-date and correct. You can update your information and access other important information via your NYC Schools Account.
Student supply lists can be seen on our school website, www.ps33q.com. Students may bring their supplies in little by little over the course of the first few days of school since carrying everything at once can be difficult.
