Summer Rising 2023
The K-8 Summer Rising application portal is closed. Placement information will be sent directly to families the week of May 12th. If more seats become available, that information will be posted on the Summer Rising website by mid-May.

Pandemic Electronic Benefit Transfer Program (P-EBT) Food Benefits
The Pandemic Electronic Benefit Transfer Program (P-EBT) is a Federal program to provide food benefits to children who miss the opportunity to receive school meals due to pandemic-related school closures. These benefits will take the form of funds on electronic benefit transfer (EBT cards) which can be used in the same manner as SNAP (food stamp) cards.
All children at DOE schools are eligible.

- Benefits will automatically be issued to all eligible students in April 2023 and May 2023, program enrollment is not required.
- For students whose households receive SNAP, Temporary Assistance, or Medicaid benefits, P-EBT benefits will be loaded to those household accounts.
- For all other students, new cards will be issued to each student specifically for P-EBT benefits and mailed directly to students’ home addresses.

All children born in 2018, the NYCDOE Kindergarten Offers posted on April 4, 2023. Login to your application on your NYC MySchools account to accept OR decline your offer by May 5, 2023.
Appointment times to register can be scheduled starting May 8, 2023 by calling the Main Office at 718-465-6283

**ONLINE APPLICATION LAUNCH DATE is Monday, April 17, 2023 and will remain open until Monday, May 1st**
Students in K-5 will attend the program beginning on Wednesday, July 5, 2023 to Friday, August 18, 2023
When filling out the application please note the following:
Attendance is of utmost importance. If you decide you no longer want or need your child attend the program be sure to email Ms. Maldonado no later than July 5, 2023 so we know to remove your child from the program. This year there is no waiting list or pending lists. If seats become available parents will still have the opportunity to apply. Please keep in mind, students in private, parochial and charter schools can apply as well so you do not want to wait.

- OSIS/Student ID # is a must.
- Students must be registered with their current grade, not the grade they will promoted to in September.
- Select the language of your choice to make the completion of the application easier for you by clicking on the “G” symbol.
- The selection process is no longer on a FIRST COME-FIRST SERVE BASIS. It is by priority and preference.
- Families should/must select multiple locations by the program available in the site of their choice, in any of the boroughs.
- Changes can be made to your application during this time frame. This is the only enrollment window available to apply. Upon modifying your application be sure to enter all site selections from your original application once again. The original will no longer be valid.
- Mandated students will be assigned to the location that their school will be located in for the summer. (To Be Determined)
- Before submitting your application be sure the guardian and student information is entered correctly/accurate.
- You will receive a confirmation email upon submitting your application. A future email will be sent confirming your child was accepted and to which program/location.
- All information pertaining to the Summer Rising program will be available in all languages on the website as of Friday, April 7th.
